Profiting From Trials

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

James 1:2-8

      1. The book of James, my friend, it helps! In fact, I highlighted the entire book and underlines the heck out of it .. When you are going through anything tough, James is so helpful!!!

  1. I just taught a bible study for my church on this subject!!! This is so cool to see:) It’s true, God uses those bad things that happen in life to profit us and help us grow stronger and closer to Him:)

  2. I like that james 1 verse and couple it with luke 12:30-32 and we see we can ask for wisdom and all the things of the kingdom with the eternal things firstmost, wisdom will remain with us forever and we can get more, love, joy, peace, faithfulness patience..all them and the more of them will remain in and with us for all eternity=what amazing value they have! as we seek the Lord and the eternal things of the kingdom first.

..who gives liberally and without reproach, it’s the Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom..your tribulations and poverty, but you are rich! (rev 2:9)

      1. Thanks! I just started it a few days ago… trying to do daily entries. it helps me unwind and reflect on my day. I was always in church and stuff growing up but its amazing how reading the Word can strengthen your relationship with God, I have learned so much!

      2. You hit on it right there .. being in the word! Prayer and being in the word, it’ll change your relationship with God, as well as your life! As for blogging, it’ll help you and other. It’s a contribution and it can be such a blessing! Keep ’em comin’, Emily 🙂
